The Legendary JC's
“The J.C.’s shine
as torchbearers.”
It all started with some
sharkskin suits and
Otis Redding tunes more than seven years ago.
Since that point, the members of the
The
Legendary J.C.’s have ridden a wave of press accolades and flocks of
devoted fans to a point where they are ready for lift-off.
With a
downright nasty rhythm section and brilliant brass behind him, front-man Eugene
Snowden is able to work
The Legendary JC's into a high-performance
engine of soul and funk originals which are as familiar and
inspiring as the standards laid by trailblazers James Brown,
Otis Redding and Al Green.
Such over-the-top shows have garnered the band
headlining slots at three consecutive years worth of
NOLA Jazz Fest late-nights,
Florida Music Festivals and
Macon
’s Bragg
Jam
.
They have also headlined:
a month at
Monte Carlo Casino – Las Vegas,
Tropical Heatwave in
Tampa
,
Milledgeville BBQ
Festival,
Crawfish Fest in
Tallahassee
and community events
throughout the southeast.
The J.C.’s
have headlined radio-station events for
WMNF,
WLOQ and
WMMO.
Other festival performances include
Voodoo
Music Experience,
Langerado,
Down on the Farm and
Dunedin
Mardi Gras.
Guitarist Brian Chodorcoff says, "A typical
show touches on rootsy-blues music and rockin' the f--- out, balls to the
wall.
We are not a jam band by any
means, but we improvise a lot.
So a
typical show is really two -- the opening set we keep our songs four to five
minutes long, but when we get deep into it, we can go for three or four hours
(per set).
The band has been in high demand at corporate
functions, as well, playing for dignitaries of the
G8 Summit,
Full
Sail,
Harley-Davidson and
Southern Comfort to name a
few.
Not only does the band pay respects to their
influences through their gold-standard original tunes, they have also performed
with some, including:
James Brown,
B.B. King,
Al Green,
Ike Stubblefield and
Sam Rivers.
Opening slots have included:
Cowboy Mouth,
J.J. Grey and Mofro,
Galactic,
Blues Traveler and even
Bad Company.
The seven-piece band is comprised
of:
Chodorcoff (guitar), Snowden
(vocals) Brian Mackie (sax), Clay Watson (trombone), Jack Stirling (keys),
Ralph Ameduri (bass) and Anthony Cole, Jr. (drums).
Currently, the band is recording their sophomore
studio album after three live releases.
Expect to see it in early 2008.
