in Tunica, MS. Best known
for his work with Howlin Wolf,
Hubert contiinues to work a full
schedule for his adoring fans
and we here at Blue Mountain
love, admore and respect him
as a musician and a person.

Release New CD's
Tab Benoit and Michael Burks
have both released new CD's and
are charting on the latest Billboard
charts. Tab Benoit release a live
CD recorded in Nashville last year
titled "Night Train to Nashville"
with special guests Louisiana's
Leroux and Jimmy Hall. The disc
is on Telarc Records and in stores
now. Michael Burks's new CD
"Iron Man" is on Alligator Records
and is also in stores now. Both
releases hit #4 on the charts.

Sax master Martin Fierro
died in his home on March
13 after a short bout with
cancer. Martin was a founding
member of Zero and was a
member of the Jerry Garcia
side project Legion of Mary.
Martin will be sadly missed

2008 Grammy Winner
BMA would like to congratulate
family member Terrance Simien
and the Zydeco Experience on
their much deserved 2008 Grammy
for Best Cajun/Zydeco album.
Terrance has been on the scene
since the early 80's and is getting
his just rewards. Congrats to
Terrance and Cynthia for this
amazing achievement!!!!

into the Rock Walk Hall of
Fame June 17 in Los Angeles.
Keb Mo and George Thorogood
were also inducted at the
Ceremony. Kenny Wayne
Shepard gave Hubert's induction
speach.

"Fooled Around and Fell in Love"
Rod Stewart's new CD which will
be his interpretation of hits from the
1970's will include a cover of Elvin
Bishop's 1975 hit "Fooled Around
and Fell in Love". "Fooled Around"
is also the first single from Stewart's
CD and you can hear it everywhere
right now including Late Night TV
and last week on the Today Show.
Elvin Bishop is taking dates now for
late 2006 and Festival season 2007.

Stage" series on PBS-TV.
The series, modeled somewhat
on the popular "Austin City Limits"
program, incorporates live
performances, interviews, and
conversations with and about
each featured artist. The shows
were filmed at the "Big Room,"
a state-of-the-art performance
theater in the Sierra Nevada
Brewery in Chico, California.

Widespread Panic
BMA would like to congratulate Jimmy
Herring as he joins Widespread Panic
starting with dates at Radio City Music
Hall in September. Unfortunately this
means that all dates for Herring,
Rodgers, Sipe and Fountain will be
cancelled after their August run.
There may be other opportunities
for HRS after Widspread's tour dates
are finalized but for now... go see HRS
on their August run and we wish
Jimmy the best in his new adventure.
